Mrs. Watkins' Music Classroom

Hello!  My name is Juanita Watkins.  I have been teaching music at Level Grove Elementary since 2015. I hold a B. A in Vocal Performance from Bryan College, in Dayton, Tennessee, and received my certification to teach Music from Florida Southern.  I love to help students to connect with music. Whether in a concert hall, at church, or at the ball field, during a stage performance, or while playing a video game, music is everywhere!  It is a part of our history and culture. It brings beauty, encouragement, meaning, and joy to our lives.

 

Every class period I teach the Georgia Standards for Excellence in Music.  My students may feel that all we do is play around.  We explore, move, dance, sing, and play instruments and games to meet our standards for responding to, connecting with, performing, and creating music. It is my hope that students leave my classroom feeling loved and respected, and that the tiny music seeds that I plant will be watered, and will produce a love for music that will grow for a lifetime.
